New OLED Steam Deck

Just got my first steam deck! Nice OLED model. Was very excited. I travel a ton for work (like 50% of the time), and though I do cart around a gaming laptop, this simply opens up a lot more time for me to be able to enjoy my library.

I was carefully considering the first game to play, because that is a momentous thing, right? I wanted something that truly showcases the power and versatility of the steam deck. Something simple, yet deep. A game of exquisite refinement, though of only few games can such a bold thing be said.

This is why it must be Brotato. What we do in life echoes in eternity!


That said... I am trying out loading discord as well. I'd like to be able to join voice chat while I play certain games. Is this a thing people do? I've been following online guide for how to use desktop mode and add discord as an app, then add as a non-steam game. I read that the overlay doesn't work, and you have to download some other overlay thing but that makes me a bit worried right off the bat.

Anybody have good experience with this discord app?
Any other recommendations on customizing a new deck that might be fun?

Side note... I did have that issue where, when trying to return to gameplay mode, the screen started developing a series of green lines. I powered it off, restarted and seems fine. I read online that this is a thing that happens. Not sure if I should worry or not, but everything seems fine so far.

I believe some people have gotten Discord to work while playing a game in Game Mode. IMO, I would just do that in Desktop Mode.

For the "green lines", it happens from time to time when returning from Desktop Mode. It's not something specific with your device.

FWIW, I just use my phone for Discord.
