Tos user agreement. from steam deck to pc
Hello, thank you for reading my post.

My question is regarding a games tos or user agreement. For example, If I install a game on Steam deck does that mean I have also accepted for my Pc? Even if it not installed on the Pc.

Thank you for any insight.

Yes

It's a "User agreement" not a "device agreement". You as the user accepted the TOS, doesn't matter where you are playing the game.

Besides that, the Steam Deck is a PC so it's the same either way.

Mahjik and Haruspex nailed it. Yes, once you install on any device, and play for 2 hours, you are globally bound to the TOS. Deck or PC or mobile makes no diff.

Work the f*ck out of games in the 2 hour window, try on multiple devices if that's an option, then pull the trigger or bail out. It's a slightly customer unfriendly policy, but it is what it is.

edit: to fix Haruspex's name

from an objective perspective, a steam deck is a "portable mini pc (in a portable console form factor)", as expressed in less words by others before me.

i ignore if the thread is meant as a joke, but anything you install and attempt to run, using steam client (or your steam account and any third party game client + manager) is considered to be a "pc", since its assumed that you are using the "steam system" (even if you were using "something else" like an "emulator" or "virtual machine"), so you are bound to their related terms of service, eulas, and so on.

What kind of data are you worried about them collecting?

For Steam, the only PC specific data I know of is what's submitted in the monthly Steam Hardware Survey, but that's not really dependent on what game you're playing. If you are randomly selected and you opt in, your hardware and OS information is submitted.

Some games might collect and submit certain analytics to the publisher. This is how some companies are able to compile and publish data like, "300 billion goblins slain collectively by players since release". If any hardware or OS information is included in these analytics, then the data of whatever system you are playing on is what will be submitted. If you installed and play Overwatch on your Steam Deck, but not your desktop, they won't have any information specific to your desktop.

"If" a game is "collecting information", it will only do so where installed.
