Oh, yes.
So enriched
ontopic: mine had no issues getting to me and my neighbours are thieving bastards when it comes to parcels.
the automated updates though (for the carrier)were poor and only updated on the day of delivery
point being that you shouldn't overly worry, only folk with poor experiences post about it whereas the vast majority who got their deck just fine mostly don't make a youtube video or start a "movement" about it.
mine took 3/4 working days to arrive in darkest Norfolk from Holland.
I had it shipped to my parents, as they were more likely to be in..... They weren't, and the sod left it in the porch. They live in a pretty posh village, and their road is out of the way so the chances of anyone seeing it were very slim, which was the other reason why I had it shipped to their address. Still leaving it in the open is a bit ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Did you get any reply to this? Absurd if this has be paid without a warning when purchasing and paying for the item.
edit: hey I had a couple of minutes,
https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/sx8m5k/eu_gang_regarding_additional_shipping_cost_and/
tried out putting in my basket, and going to payment. No extra costs.
I ordered a deck on Sunday. I will report back with any charges.
Mine was delivered by RoyalMail.
I know my Postman very well as we always chat ♥♥♥♥ when we see each other.
Such a shame others do not have any form of positive working relationship with their postie.
He could have left the steam deck or whatever out in the open and nobody would nick nothing around here, but then I’m in a pretty homogenous neighbourhood called Cornwall.
Everybody and their mom is packing around here.
So peoples behave.
Could you not just a post office box? Do they still do them?
I used have one back in the day, but that was way back when.
Or arrange a delivery at a certain time…
The system used to work fine.
P.S. there were no extra charges upon delivery.
Everything is included in the price you pay upfront.
The steam deck has arrived on the fifth working day after order. GLS tracking was crap. Parcelforce tracking was good.
It was not held up by customs. I did not need to pay duty or a handling charge.
VAT was (of course) paid when I ordered.
So, in all a smooth delivery/
Good to hear. I keep holding fire because I don't want to see "now on sale!" About a week after I get one. Last time it went I sale, it was almost impossible to buy in the UK.
I think end of Feb, and if it's not on sale .. eh. Oh well.
