PS Link Adapter does not work with Steam Deck Dock
My setup includes Steam Deck and accompanying Valve dock, with two USB-A dongles (one for keyboard, and the other being PS Link adapter).

PS Link adapter does not pair with Pulse Explore earbuds while plugged into the USB-A port on Steam Deck dock.

The same Link adapter works fine when plugged into a Macbook Pro or PS5. Issue only occurs when plugged into Steam Deck dock.

Anyone have success with a similar setup? Asking about PS link adapter specifically.

Thanks

That's bad news. I was planning on a similar setup once the Pulse Elite are out. If the USB adapter needs drivers to run (some third party dongles do not), then we'll have to rely on an unofficial fix. It's not impossible - someone provided a script to run the Xbox wireless dongle. But it may take months or may not happen at all.

The device is only release on December 2023. Linux does not have support for the link adapter. There is a reason why I avoid Sony stuff, although they do have a dev working on controller support. Japanese companies are not known to be the greatest OSS contributors in the world.

Pleased to report that after the latest firmware update for both the PS Link adapter and Pulse Explore earbuds (buds and case), they work flawlessly with the Steam Deck dock. Boggles the mind why Sony wouldn’t ensure functionality on day one but here we are!

Oh thats awesome! Thanks for testing. I might have to pick up a pair of the pulse explores, I wonder if a c to a adapter would allow me to use them while flying or on the bus.

I used an Anker Type-C to Type-A adapter last time I flew and no issues whatsoever.
