Steam Deck Shipping and Delivery Time June 2024 Updated

For those who wants to buy or just bought a new Steam Deck, this post is for you. If you are an anxious person and are about to buy your new Steam Deck and want to check how long it will take to arrive, you might be in the right place. I've searched for discussions on Steam forums, X, and other forums about updated shipping times for Canada in June 2024, but I couldn't find any recent good information. Most topics were created during the initial release, so I decided to share my detailed timeframe here to give you an idea of when your Steam Deck is supposed to arrive. This is based on my personal experience. Feel free to contribute by sharing your own timeframe!

• Purchase: June 7th (Friday), 3:52 am (2:52 am EST)
  
• "Thank you for your Steam Purchase!" email: June 7th (Friday), 3:53 am (2:53 am EST)
  
  
• Shipping Status: Processed payment
  Notes: "Our distributor has hit a processing backlog for orders to Canada. We are actively working through the issue and will ship your order as soon as we can. You will receive an email with tracking information once your order ships."
  Note: In a Reddit topic, a user named LTame mentioned, "This message has been there since the original launch and they just forgot to remove it. It's hardcoded on the page for years now.". Might be true, because I haven't experienced any delay.
  
  
• Shipping Status: Packaged Items
  Status changed between: June 8th (Saturday), 11:00 pm (10:00 pm EST) and June 9th (Sunday), 2:16 pm (1:16 pm EST)
  Note: No email received during the status change.
  
  
• Shipping Status: Picked up by carrier and Shipped
  Status changed at the same time: June 11th (Tuesday), 4:00 pm (3:00 pm EST)
  Package origin: Illinois, US
  
  
• Shipping Status: Delivered
  Date and Time: June 13th (Thursday), 2:18 pm (1:18 pm EST)
  Expected delivery window: Between 10:20 am to 2:20 pm.

I know this is an old subject and maybe no one talk about it anymore, but one week ago I tried to find an updated topic like this and I couldn't, so I'm posting it for anyone still anxious about it. Hope this is helpful for you and this can calm you down, especially when you bought and was welcomed with the backlog message!

UPDATE AUGUST 2024

I bought the Steam Deck Docking Station on August 21st, and I received it the following Monday, on the 26th. The delivery time was still within the expected 3-5 business days!

Ordered OLED 512gb July 2nd, order changed to packaged items on July 4th and just got the shipment notification today.

Ordered the 1 TB OLED on July 9 at 10:25 AM ET. Delivery to Goderich, Ontario.

July 10, 9:40 AM ET - Status remained as “processed payment” since placing order.

July 10, 12:30 PM ET - Status updated to “packaged items.”

July 12, 5:42 PM ET - Status updated to “picked up by carrier and shipped.” Label created and shipped International Economy from Carol Stream, IL, via FedEx.

July 12, 8:40 PM ET - Shipping status has been updated and the scheduled delivery date is July 16 before 8:00 PM.

July 12, 9:21 PM ET - Shipping status has been updated and the scheduled delivery date is now July 15 before 8:00 PM. Early delivery.


FedEx is terrible. Early delivery of July 15 came and went. Package sat at a local facility the entire day, as well as the next day which was the initial delivery date. Got a delay notice and now it is late and won’t be delivered until July 17.

Bought mine yesterday on the 11th before the sale ended and I just checked it rn but it's still in processing status since yesterday.

So I ordered my deck on 4th and it was in my hand on the 11th I ordered the lcd 500 whatever gb version. So 7 days from ordering at 5.48 pm delivered on the 11th at 11:30 am that included a weekend. So it shouldn't take long fellow Canucks.

update: within the same 24 hours of each other it has went to packaged and now to fedex and now saying it'll arrive monday. all of this was said AFTER the microsoft stuff too so hopefully it stays correct!

Bought my 512GB OLED on 3PM Friday, just thought to check my account page now (I was expecting an email). Today (Monday) as of 6PM it's at "Packaged Items" status.

Monday 9PM: Label created at 8PM, got the tracking number
Tuesday 3PM: (Fedex) We have your package/On the way
Thursday 8AM: (Fedex) In Montreal, customs cleared
12PM: Out for delivery

Barring any FedEx weirdness, looks like 4 business days, or 6 full days.

Anyone else seeing a message that distribution to Canada is backlogged on their tracking page? I'm wondering if this has just started in the last couple days. Would be just the luck when I finally commit to the purchase and now it is delayed. Hopefully turnaround is still at least as fast as everyone else has stated.

Hey so sorry for the delay on replying to this. I got mine about 5 days after ordering it. The moment it said it was shipped out it was set for delivery the next day. It was shipping out only a state away as well but it came super fast.
