Layout help
Hi guys,

I have my outer ring layer set to shift, so I can auto run in games as long as the left stick is hitting the limits.

What I am trying to do is make holding down R1 cancel that out. So far I have had no luck doing this.

If there is a simpler way of doing this, please let me know. So far this is what I've tried:

Created an action layer called "auto run off" that can be triggered from the default layer when I hit the outer ring limit. Inside auto run off, the left stick outer ring is set to shift. This all works well. On both layers, outer ring layer is set to interruptible.

I set the R1 on both layers to remove action set layer "auto run off"... Does not work.

Any idea why?

You can use either a mode shift or an action layer. For this use case, I would recommend a mode shift. So you can delete the command to add the layer.

Click on the drop down menu for the left stick and scroll to the bottom. You'll see Create a Mode Shift.

For the mode shift, set it up the same as the left stick, but don't bind anything for the outer ring binding. Go to settings for the mode shift and set the mode shift button to Right Bumper.

If you go to right bumper, you'll see that a mode shift command has been added to it. Now, If you want run to be disabled while holding R1, you're all set.

If you want to toggle run off with a click instead of a hold, you can go to the settings for this command and enable toggle.

sorry for the delayed reply, but thank you for this... i have never played with the mode shift before but it's opening new avenues of setting up controller layouts for me, again.
