anyway to force enable "allow tearing"?
good day,

So, I'm trying to use turbo mode in PCSX2 and it only gives me 90fps even tho I set it to work at 200% (120fps) while turbo enabled. Allow tearing setting is random, it'd work 2 out of 10 times when I try it, and I think it atop working after putting my SD to sleep.

allow tearing shouldn't limit the framerate, never did for me.

disabling "allow tearing" should lock the framerate, and enabling "allow tearing" should unlock the framerates beyond 90fps, but for some reason, the option doesn't work correctly

No and no. Unless this is some weird steamOS specific thing, this setting has no impact on fps locking. Allow tearing disables the vsync, but does not lock fps, if not set.

If you want to lock the framerate, do so by locking the framerate in game. If you want responsive games, without input lag, you should use allow tearing.

it's just toggling "forced" (before valve implemented the option to toggle) vsync in Wayland. it does not lock the framerate of any applications, but it does add sync on top of everything. that's why frame limiting and tearing are separate toggles on the steam deck. it works the same way on regular Linux, however I just set it to always tear a fullscreen application (I.e. a game) on my desktop PC.
