Connecting to new WiFi - OSK issue in Desktop
Set my new Steam Deck OLED up at home fine and then took it to work.
Can't sign in to Steam account as it needs an internet connection.
Cannot see anywhere to connect it to a new WiFi network.
Pressing the Steam button does not give you all the options (i.e. Settings) unless you are signed in. You only get 3

About
Power

Power will give you the option for Desktop and here you can select a new WiFi connection but, cannot bring up the keyboard to enter a password. X doesn't work neither does Steam+X
And testing it further, they only seem to work if you are signed into your Steam Account.
But I cannot sign into my Steam Account because I have no internet connection...

Feeling very much like "There's a hole in my Bucket, dear Liza.."

Hoping someone will tell me something obvious I have missed but for now I will take a USB C - A adapter to work and connect an external keyboard.

I did see this from the Desktop FAQ
"you may find yourself in situations where you’ll need to plug in a physical keyboard and mouse."
So maybe I'm not being an idiot... In this instance I would rather find out that I am being one and there is an easy solution to this I have totally missed.

Do you have your Steam account setup that you must login each time?

Since it seems you are stuck needing to complete the login, a few things you could do.

1. You could use a phone and create a Hotspot using your home network name and password. The Deck will find it and think it's the network it already knows about.

2. You could tether the Deck to your phone via USB cable and use it's internet to login.

Yes, I have it set to sign in each time as I was planning on lending to a friend who will be spending time in hospital treatment so wanted to be able to swap accounts.

Today, however, when I attempted to sign in and show the issue to a colleague there is a large button to login in offline mode!!!
If that was there before I have no idea how I missed it. Either there was an update that pulled down when I signed into last night at home and this wasn't there before or...
I'm a moron.
Either way, signing in offline gives you access to connect it to a new WiFi network so issue resolved.

Thanks.
