As far as i'm aware Cryoutilities hasn't been updated in quite some time (years?) and is no longer needed on the latest Steam OS releases.

The one or 2 things that Cryoutilitites might still be usefull for like changing swap can be done using the terminal/command line aswell.
With the most recent versions of SteamOS, the use of CryoUtilities has, in fact, exacerbated performance issues. Consequently, I have entirely removed all tools that modify system performance, including CryoUtilities and PowerTools.

CryoUtilities, at least the memory/swap adjustments, don't work on the recent OS's. I don't know if the dev just cannot work around Valve's changes or doesn't want to. So basically, the only thing it can really do for you today is if you want to move the shader and compdata files to where your games are installed automatically (i.e. have them on your SD cards).

Not really. Managing swap file size was probably the only great option. Ever since SteamOS 3.6, cryoutilities hasn't really been needed. The developer, Cryobyte33 really hasn't been very active lately.
