Storage limits? Why not add a second/third SD-Card slot?
While the lack of storage is a problem in general (max seems to be 1 TB SD + 512 GB SSD (-OS etc.)) the price difference between small and really big SDs is an issue aswell.

Wouldnt it have been a great solution to add multiple SD-Card slots to the steam deck or is there some sort of hardware limitation?

I also dont really like the fact that the sd-card slot is always open - why doesnt it have some sort of closure?

I know other handheld-consoles have even less storage - but why not make it better? I really do wonder what the reason for not adding multiple SD-Card-Slots was.

Have you seen the motherboard? There is not enough room to add another one.

Single SD card slots are pretty standard for most motherboards of this type, due to restrictions in the motherboard itself.

However you can use a hub that supports multiple SD card inserts if you require it.
You can also buy a SD card cover if you really require it.

I have a 512gb SD at the moment and it works perfectly fine.

Because 256gb cards are dirt cheap, are fine for many games with only a few exceptions and well you can swap SD cards.

Well the question wasn't why didn't Valve put a quantum storage device in the Steam Deck. :D
