PS4 controller's trackpad being used as mouse
Googled for a solution but yielded no results. I'm trying to disable this, because I could have the touch pad be configured to perform a different action, but it will perform that action WHILE still acting like a mouse, which can have a messy results.

So... How do I stop it acting like a mouse? If I need it to act like a mouse, steam input itself is perfectly capable of that.

Using the DS4 and haven't had this problem. Did you turn the center trackpad off in steam input? Does it happen with all games?

as far as the same controller type behaving differently, this can happen when steam assigns ps layouts as opposed to generic controller layouts. you can try to go in big picture mode and use the controller settings to change how the controller registers/rebind the functions

All games. even game mode itself it functions as a mouse. In Steam Input, it was already off. I even tried making it take directional inputs with said inputs being nothing at all in each direction. Still functions as a mouse.

Reason I made this post is that in MMOs, I set up a virtual menu to have access to buttons via touchpad. Everything was okay with the Deck itself, no issues at all with the trackpad. However, the PS4 controller's giving me a huge headache: No matter what I do, not only does it function as a mouse, but it still takes the Steam Input, like the virtual menus I mentioned. This results in some VERY MESSY controls.

if it matters at all, I'm trying to do this while docked, where I have access to a mouse already.

there is no setting for this at all in controller settings.

Ok so today, the touchpad stopped working. I don't know what's different between yesterday and now, but it no longer acts like a mouse.
