in my day we walked our anti-glare steam decks 30 miles in the sun
it can work, find some shade though cuz even if you can see what is going on, the steam deck starts cooking with the heat from the screen/internals battling the ambient temps (in hot climates/direct sunlight)
As noted above, depending on where you live, heat may be a factor. If the ambient temps are hot, the Deck won't have cool enough air. This is from the Steam Deck pages:

The Steam Deck's safe operational ranges are:
* Ambient temperature - 0° - +35° C (+32° - +95° F)
* Humidity - up to 85% non-condensing relative humidity
* Altitude - up to 3500m
