Why completely dissasemble the steam deck to replace the shell to change the aesthetics..

Vinyl skins look cheap and gross in comparison. Plus there's no wrap that magically makes SD look transparent.

Might just be a me thing, but I've never seen vinyl wraps in person that didn't make the device its attached to look aesthetically displeasing.

also, it could be interesting to 3d print a shell, if someone shares or sells the files. depending in what you do, you could end with something that looks and feels even superior to standard.

Vinyl can’t make the shell transparent or translucent.
Also, the edges of vinyl skins hold onto grime
