Random startup animation

Sometimes while using my deck, my startup animation will randomly start playing in the middle of what I’m doing. It doesn’t happen while I’m playing games, only when I’m watching media via services like YouTube or Crunchyroll. It doesn’t seem like there’s a set frequency at which this occurs either. Totally random, and pretty annoying because it’s not infrequent. It backs me out of the application while the media keeps playing, too, so I usually have to rewind a bit. Does anybody know how I make it stop?

I think the general advice applies here, restart the device as a first step. Verify files for youtube or crunchyroll, reinstall them maybe. Check for updates. If that doesn't work, a factory reset may help. Failing any of those, you can try to reimage the device using a Valve factory image.

I'm sorta new to Steam Deck troubleshooting but I've worked on PCs and Macs for years and years, someone let me know if my advice is out of line please!

I managed to fix it! I unchecked ‘Use as Wake Movie’ in the customization settings. I’m not sure why that fixed it, I don’t think my steamdeck was going to sleep every 2-3 minutes. It’s certainly not configured to do so anyway. Regardless this seems to have stopped the issue for me
