Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Legion go S Vs Steam Deck
So its very much confirmed that the black model of the Legion s comes with Steam Os. The screen is also smaller so around 8 Inches compared to the Legion go with 8.8 Inches.
Its still Hard to say which one to buy because we havent seen the full Details yet but hardware wise its better than the deck. Does anyone look forward to it? If the form factor is good and if its lighter than the deck which could be the case, this would be a no brainer especially with that screen even if its not oled

Will it go the same route as the current Go, that is high emphasis on specs and 0 emphasis on battery run time? That's the important question here.

Yeah high specs mean nothing if it can't really last. I'd rather just not buy anything from that side of the world, anything could happen with it.

Leaks suggest the black, SteamOS powered device will be using the new Z2G chip, which is lower powered than the Z2 Extreme, but theoretically a bit of a bump up from the current Steam Deck specs. It will feature a 4 core 8 thread Zen3+ CPU, as compared to the Deck's Zen 2 CPU with the same core count. It also has RDNA2 graphics, same as the Deck, but with 12 CU instead of 8 CU.

It does look like it will probably still go the same route as the other less efficient devices though, with a 9-30 watt TDP range, as compared to the Deck's 3-15 watt range.

Undoubtedly the Legion Go S will outperform the Steam Deck, but I'll be curious to see how it measures up at lower wattages. I think when it comes to efficiency, the Deck still has the edge thanks to a chip that can run at lower wattages and hardware designed for the OS, and vice versa.

It depends what you look for in a handheld. Without fanboying the deck gives you objetively the Best overall package. The trackpads the os and the community is awesome. I cant wait to install steam os on all of my devices when its ready
