Steam Deck Battery Replacement - OUT OF STOCK
I have been trying to buy a Steam Deck battery replacement for months now without any luck. iFixIt being the exclusive carrier of the OEM battery has made it even harder. Has anyone here tried an after market battery replacement on their devices yet? I have seen some at Amazon for half the price of the OEM batteries and I wonder how bad or good they are.

Heyo,

I very recently ordered a replacement battery from ifixit -> not sure why you're struggling to get one. I can tell you that the entire kit has been out of stock since I was watching (tools + battery) but the solo battery has been available in the last 2 weeks.

On knockoff batteries: My personal and professional opinion is don't use them. Obviously way later in the hardware cycle they may be the only choice. At this time, for a device you cherish don't run the risk.
Same for me. Since 6 months I try to get one for the original steam deck. Everytime I looked it was out of stock. Only OLED version available. Also added my email to the mailing list in case new batteries arrive. No mail received so far.
A bit annoying.

I gave up on waiting for a battery restock at ifixit and installed a third party battery from AliExpress[www.aliexpress.com] in my LCD deck a couple of weeks ago.

Followed the iFixit install guide and so far I’m happy with it, though it’s still early days.
