For example Street Fighter 6 runs abysmally in anywhere except for the actual fights themselves, but the graphics still don't look right compared to PC. Marvel Rivals also runs terribly.
Meanwhile Sonic Adventure 2 doesn't get verified because you have to tap the run button in the launcher... Sonic Adventure 1 has no launcher and has no verification at all.
I trust what’s said there in terms of what’s playable on Steam Deck compared to Steam themselves, especially since it’s based on users’ experiences with various games.
Honestly, valve should do something like what bethesda did with skyrim. They should take all the most popular and practical decky plugins and integrate them with the system natively.

a QAM media player that tracks your own personal software (like strawberry music player or youtube in a different window)
a QAM terminal so you don't have to add konsole as a non-steam game
those are my personal favorites. It would solve a lot of my own personal gripes with the deck, but I'm just happy that I have a way to customize it myself. Decky FTW
But that doesn't change the fact that the built-in system doesn't work. There are almost no “good” companies left in the game industry, Valve being one of the last. And with this kind of small deterioration, we will lose them too.
For many years they have created something really different from gamers for gamers, and they spoil it with such small insignificant mistakes.
My guess is that they are simply spread too thin to worry about smaller inconveniences like complete and total accuracy of the verified system, especially since protondb already fills the niche quite well.
Good damn ♥♥♥♥♥♥ consumers/Karen...... They keep changing the lexicon.....
My bad OP. I didn't realize you were victims to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ model.....
The issue with that is not all games are on there
other users have made similar comments before, for the same reason: they assume it means something, without reading more.
but not a big issue: it lists more games than those that valve can list officially, because it depend in individual users trying to run something, and then reporting their results. and if the games are popular enough, is very likely there are multiple reports that can help figure out the best way to install and configure them, to get the best performance.
imo, the biggest issues related to those missing titles are "non-games", like "rpg maker" and other programs that can be used by creators, or to do other things. finding if those may or not run in linux is a bit harder, but if its popular enough, theres a good chance someone already tried and reported it elsewhere.
I dislike things like this, because I think they really mean to lead people to believe verified means verified to get you to purchase, until you read the fine lines in the lawyer written 50 page document to get their interpretation (and I'm talking about things in general, not just Valve).
This happens everyday in everything anymore. It's an English language. Say what you freaking mean, please don't make us read into it more to determine "your" definition (i.e. Valves, or anyone else's) because it always causes issues just like the OP's.
