Steam Deck

Steam Deck

How durable is steam deck?
Maybe my anxiety is getting to me or the fact that everything i own eventually breaks.
Been having the deck for 2 and a half months now,its my main gaming console now due to pc being 8 years old and shutting down.

So im just wondering can steam deck all of a sudden break? Like joystick falling off or r&l buttons?
Im lightly pressing it all and when in game tells me to press l3 or r3, i keybind it to back buttons out of safety.
And now it seems to me l2 and r2 are little squeaky or maybe that was always a thing.

So at the end of this yapping, i just wanna know will this console work forever?

I wouldn’t worry about forever if I were you. Also, buy the next Steam Deck whenever Valve releases it and you’ll have two. That’s what I’ll be doing.

Cant do that,im always out of money. I literally only have 4 bucks left for i spent the xmas money on games for deck now,all of it. So far worth it,unless deck breaks.
And i dont work or cant work for next few months due to surgery i had last month so il only get like maybe 100-200 bucks in 2 months on my birthday but that money is also going for more games given i have over 140 wishlisted.

Gotta play everything while you have the chance ya know.
And deck was a gift from my parents to survive this illness i gotten :P

Common problem about "squeaky" buttons. Someone helps just blowing in it, someone buy & change buttons, others just don't see problem in it - just wear headphones. Hear that squeaky at second hour of deck owning, but it still works. Noticed a little deviation from the norm in response of buttons while calibrating, so thats not problem for me, for games that's I played.

No reason to worry until something happens. If something happens, look for a local "small electronics" repair shop.
I know a few close by but dunno how well they would work on something like steam deck. Most...regular people dont even know it exists

If they work on laptops and tablets, the Deck won't be any different.

Oh i got a grip just fine but dont wanna press too hard for it to break.
I have a ps3 and pretty sure by spamming l3 and r3 in games, it might have gotten the joystick loose(characters slide on their own in game without me touching the controller)

So i always keybind for deck now...but sadly new game dosent have that somehow in settings

Deck (*Steam) allow you to bind any buttons in any games as you want, before game launches it showes you what's type of keybind will use in game. So you can configure it or choose one of existence. Am I right?

I choose edit layout in game and for this game it dosent have
for an example in ghost of tsushima its l3 to crouch and r3 to focus aim
when i went to edit layout and to r4 and r5 buttons,it showed if i wanted to put crouch and focus aim on those
but now in spider man game r3 is to scan the area around me and i dont see that in the settings at all. Thought it was camera focus or something different called but apparently not
oh well
