The Steam Deck Has Sold More Units Than All Other Competition Combined
From an article on The Verge[www.theverge.com].

Today marks the third anniversary of the release of the Steam Deck. Back in November 2023, Valve stated they had shipped "multiple millions" of Steam Decks. The Verge has data from market research firm IDC showing shipment numbers between the major players in the PC handheld space. Between the Steam Deck, the ROG Ally, the Lenovo Legion Go, and the MSI Claw, all devices combined have shipped over 6 million units in the past three years. When asked if those numbers could be split up, IDC showed that the Steam Deck has constituted the lions share of those units, equating to about 50% of 2023 shipment and 48% of 2024 shipments, meaning Valve is estimated to have shipped 3.7 million Steam Decks, and possibly closer to 4 million by now.

One interpretation of this is that those numbers are small and not really growing. Another is that it's just the early days for handheld PC gaming. As an example, Meta's Ray-Bans sold 2 million between 2023 and 2025, which it's maker is taking as a sign that it could be selling as much as 10 million each year.

Exciting times for handheld PC gaming.
