Steam updates from Discovery store.

I'm getting a notification for a update, even though my client says it's up to date.

Is it safe to update Steam through the discovery store on Deck? I've always thought it was meant for non-deck kde platforms.

I've always thought Deck uses it's own custom version of Steam. Steam is showing it's installed through Discovery, now I'm concerned about running the wrong version.

Is the update for the client or the OS? The former should update itself, but the latter can be upgraded either through Settings in Game Mode or through the Discovery store in Desktop Mode.

The update was for the client. So Steam/ Check for client updates in desktop more doesn't update.

It ended up updating in Gaming Mode, and the Discovery notification went away.

I was met with the initial boot to pick language, and time zone. Is this normal? Everything seems normal afterwards.
