Aftermarket motherboards
Will we ever be able to buy a Steam Deck “clone” motherboard from a third party? Since my mobo had to be replaced, and I have seen several other recent posts from other people with similar problems leading to mobo replacement, I’m wondering if anyone else thinks there will be aftermarket replacement parts eventually. It seems like access to the appropriate chips would be the issue, if any of them are proprietary Valve parts, but it may be possible to clone the chipset.

Nothing is really proprietary but the APU. I'd highly doubt seeing what you're asking for because it isn't really cost effective given everything is direct on the board (APU, memory, etc.). If there is something wrong on the main board it's less costly to actually locate the issue and replace just the failed component. The main board is pretty much the only thing Valve doesn't make available via iFixit.
