Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Steam Deck and The Sims 4 via EA Games app
I already own The Sims 4 outside of Steam and have read on both Steam and EA's site that you can link the two apps and then play your saved Sims games on the Deck. However, I cannot seem to get this to work. One tutorial said to add EADesktop to your Steam library which I did and it triggers the app to open on my PC, but it's nowhere to be found on my Deck's library even when I show all or use desktop mode. Is there someone who has successfully linked their Steam and EA accounts and got The Sims 4 to work on their Deck? I just find all these tutorials are telling me different things and I like just a straightforward and easy answer on how to get it done. Thank you. :)

Go with Heroic Launcher/Lutris. By far the easiest ways to get non-steam games onto your Deck. I've used one of those (don't remember which one exactly) to play an EGS game a while ago.

In addition to the above, there is also:

Depending on how you feel about Windows as second OS, you could try double boot options, keeping SteamOs and Windows on same m2 disk. Probably worth it only after upgrading steam deck m2 drive to 1 or 2gb. I had almost no issues with Steam deck on Windows.

You should be able to download Sims 4 from Steam and then it will prompt you about the EA Games App. As to whether or not it will sync up your saved game from EA, I don't know.
