Not using a dock but not sure if that would be a factor or not.
Its a bluetooth kb + mouse. They work but I cannot get them to work for games. Ive tried changing the controller layout but theres no options for keyboard and mouse, just different variations of controllers.
1. Remove ALL assignments in the Controller layout. Supposedly, if nothing is defined, the game won't see the Deck Controller.
2. https://github.com/scawp/Steam-Deck.Auto-Disable-Steam-Controller
Thanks for the tips rly appreciate it :). I will have to play around with this and see if it works. Still crazy that have to basically hack the deck in order to use mouse and keys lol....
Ive played around in desktop mode, can disable all the other inputs like xbox controller etc but cant seem to disable the steamdeck.
I have to say that I love the deck but jebus there has been so much stuff around to get certain things to work. linux life.
Not sure if that's necessarily a linux issue because I too use a bluetooth keyboard, mouse and even a bluetooth trackball with the deck and never had an issue with any of it not working in games, even though the KB & mouse is the most generic, cheap crap you can find on ebay.
I originally bought the cheap kb & mouse for when I need to do "linuxy-tinkery" stuff in desktop mode - but didn't have to do much of that so far.
The trackball is nice for playing RTS games on the couch with the deck docked to the TV tho.
