Joystick makes noises on new steam deck - is this normal?
I just got my brand new steam deck and the joysticks make a strange low clicky noise when moving slightly:

Both joysticks produce this low volume clicky sound in almost all directions when you slightly move them from neutral position. When you fully extend the range of motion, nothing else happens and release to neutral starting position doesn't not generate a sound either. Is this normal or should I be concerned? Device is brand new :-(

That is normal.

The Deck Joysticks are a bit stiff at the default position, so it takes a fair amount of effort to move them. This means you are not moving them slightly, but all the way and hitting the case.

The sound might go away with use, mine still does make it however. It does not seem to affect gameplay. Though, I have had difficulty with the right analog stick not being usable on some games, and having to use the trackpad. I think these were mouse only input games, not supporting joystick camera controls.
