256 GB is surely worth it at sale tho, IMO. I regret my 64 GB at full price due to running out of space regularly.

Well, you would need to do more than just opening it. If you accidentally damage the internals and your deck has a problem afterwards, then it does not fall under warranty.

Seems the 256gb has been back in stock for a while now, shame the other models aren’t

The only reason I can think of that they refuse to add a pre order system, is that the business model is to make those waiting for the 64gig to give up and just bite the bullet on the expensive models.

Then why in Ireland: the 256GB is in stock but the 512GB out of stock.
Also its available in rest of EU, just stock issues in Ireland and UK.
My theory is AC/DC 3 pin adapters.
I did get the Dock during sale which has a 3pin plug.
Maybe because of the hottest summer ever in the UK since records began with highs of 23 degrees, rain, wind, sshhhh cold, people are buying decks instead of going to the beaches.

Anyway just buy the 512Gb your're gaining nothing by the lower versions, then replacing internal memory card. Its still cheaper than a new graphics card and memory upgrade.

1tb SSD is £70-£80 and the 64gb model is £349, certainly cheaper than getting the 512gb model, not sure where you got that maths from 😅
