Hi Scuri,

There isn't really a set pattern as to when they come back in stock. I've seen them appear any time on any day, but they're typically gone in under an hour when they do appear.

Unfortunately, until Valve put in something like a reservation system for them again, the only thing you can do is keep checking and hope you're in the right place at the right time.
It's been like this for quite a few months now at least, I decided I wanted to purchase one about 4 months ago but haven't managed to bag one yet.

I have seen them come into stock but only managed to get to the card details page of the order, I hit the submit button to complete the purchase then it rejects the transaction as they are out of stock.

No real pattern to when they come into stock, you just have to be lightning fast, make sure all your details are correct for the order process to minimise the time it takes to compete the order when they come back into stock (for the few minutes it seems they are in stock).

Does anyone known of any stock alerts, or active forums/threads that can notify when stock is available?

There’s a couple of threads in this very forum you could subscribe to, where sometimes people will mention when they’re back in stock. (Have a scroll through the first few pages, as you won’t have to look far.)
Obviously, you can’t always depend on that as it might be already too late by the time you notice a post. And, it depends on someone posting about it in the first place.

The ‘Wishlist’ feature on the store page won’t work either, as at least one model is in stock (512 GB), so it won’t notify you if the other models come back in.

Sadly, the best and most reliable method you currently have is to check the store frequently yourself. You’ll catch it right eventually, though it might take a while.

Just one more question, are the restocks typically on the hour? For example, at 4pm and not something random like 4:18pm?

They're random I'm afraid. I've seen them come in just before 10am on one day, and just before 10:50pm on another.

I do wish there was a public statement on the situation
or perhaps reintroduce the original queue system for pre-order.
Been months checking multiple times a day.

Was hoping to get my son his own one for his birthday...

I agree, especially as it just seems to be us in the UK that are affected...
at least a few alternatives are popping up if your willing to research them a bit. All that said, I am impressed the deck runs as good as it does. The switch kind of hurt itself with the APU they went with, but price point matters too much for that market. And the deck could stand a refresh in a couple areas to boost its battery life, presuming component prices don't hurt like the PC space was for years now. Still can't believe this is a 15w system.

Meanwhile, GPU tdps are so high now, a high end PC is making me do EE math to make sure I don't burn down the house....or blow up the PC for that matter.

Solution to this, don't be so cheap and buy the best version lol.

Hardly a case of being cheap... Im sure most people wanting the 64gb version, like myself, is because we plant to upgrade the SSD ourselves, twice for the storage for £100 less. No point buying the 512gb version.
