Can I buy the Deck with wallet funds?

I was thinking of selling my knife, buying the deck and grabbing a different knife, but I don't want to do it if I end up not being able to purchase.

Let's go, I was worried about it, I remember seeing something awhile ago about not being able to buy the Index with wallet funds, didn't know if they carried it over to the Deck.

Definitely can, just paid for mine via funds in my Steam wallet.

Adding to the advice already given, you can even use partial wallet credit. If you don't have enough in the wallet, you can choose a registered charge card for the remainder.

Pro Tip: Don't hit 'back' in the browser at any point during the purchase process 'just to check'. Read every screen closely so you don't have to, before progressing. If you hit back you can really mess up the process and lose your reservation.

Keep in mind that any money you put into your Steam wallet is a one way street and once added it isn't refundable. So if for whatever reason you decide not to complete the purchase, or after getting the Steam Deck you decide to return it that money will only go back to the Steam wallet.

There are ways around that, with CS skins if he was in a bind and returned the deck like in that example. Most likely since he's stacking wallet funds he'll complete the purchase though and may have a few extra dollars spare he can put towards his next game.

Thank you every all! No ive always been a Hand held Gamer, i love PC Gaming an did it a lot back in 09-10 with my Alienwear M17. Life happens and now im slowly getting back into gaming, I have a GF thats willing to go half with me on buying the Steam Deck so im all in. This should be Pinned to the top that way people know they have this option.

Let's Fing GO, that's dope she respects your hobby and is even willing to pitch in for a Deck. I haven't gotten my hands on mine yet, but hearing your love for handheld and PC gaming, it should be a special piece of tech that combines everything into one for you. I also agree, Valve needs to be more transparent about wallet funds for the Deck, especially after not allowing them for the Index, definitely was a pleasant surprise to find out I could pay with my wallet.
