Is it a good idea to install windows 11?
I’ve been trying to decide to install windows 11 for games i can’t play on steam but i heard there’s been issues using windows 10 or 11.

From what I personally heard it's a bad idea to install windows 11 on anything let alone the steam deck
Why not installing it on a SD card? That way you have both options and you leave the base install in order.

I'm running Windows 11 from one of those USB 3.2 SSDs they sell on Amazon. I have to say that it works better than expected.
if you really need it, go for it, but if you only need it for few games you dont play very frequently, maybe it would be better to avoid it.

you should be also aware its not properly supported, and that the bad faith microsoft and apple have earned in the last 10 years is thanks to forced updates, unneeded background processes that consume ram and internet bandwith, and the programmed obsolescence design they rely to "stimulate" sales.

also microsoft doesnt like to share disk space with linux, which sometimes will create issues.

not all games have issues, and i agree its never a good idea to install windows if you can avoid it (ie most of your games can run through proton and maybe a few need tweaks to work).

Your choice, but I would rather use TempleOS as my daily driver.
