Secure boot in windows
Ok so I’ve been trying to do this legitimately all day so I can play val. I switched to beta steamos updates and did the 3 updates etc but I’m still not seeing an option to secure boot in the BIOS. Literally no videos on YouTube, no one on Reddit or discord knows how to help me. I feel like I’m the only one trying to play Valorant on the steamdeck on windows 11

EDIT: PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING. I am on windows. Not Linux or steamos. Linux not being compatible with vanguard anti cheat has nothing to do with me. I have opted into beta branch already: https://imgur.com/a/LGJdrwm

There comes a point when you have to accept that what you want to do may not be what you can do. And that point seems to have long since passed since it's clear that Secure Boot is not currently a thing you can have on the Steam Deck. So either accept that you have to switch to Windows 10, or give up on trying to play it at all.

I see valve has stepped up their device security - even without SteamOS, they find ways to stop people from installing malware...

Too bad it comes shipped with malware installed in the form of Linux.

One of the most braindead takes I've seen on here.

And regarding secure boot, afaik the Steam Deck is fully UEFI with no CSM support so it should always be using secure boot.

Secure Boot is not equal to, nor does it rely on, having a TPM. Valve and AMD enabling the fTPM on the SoC improves secure boot because it is used as a hardware keystore for the signed boot loader.

if secure boot is always on, then how can you enroll new keys for secure boot?

Valve can via the UEFI firmware. A system doesn't need to have user enrolled keys to support secure boot.

Cope.

Doubt since val doesn’t work.

I will never accept it.

even if it has secure boot, it's not enforced since you can easily install any operating system you want. I guess valorants malware not seeing it as enabled proves it too.

though I believe when valve does enable secure boot, they will let us change keys ourselves. they want the deck to have limitless posibilities.
Windows 10 is your answer.
You have your answer, spamming the forums with a bump will do nothing.

You can't sucureboot with the Deck to Windows 11. You need to run Windows 10. All videos showing Valorant are using Windows 10. There is a reason for that.
We're locking this thread as it has devolved into non-productive argument. Thanks for your understanding.
