How to turn off Performance overlay

Hi! I'm using the Deck very happily since a month. But suddenly since two days there is an overlay with framerate etc. in the upper left corner when I play and I can't turn it off. My performance overlay setting is off/zero. Could someone give me any tips?

Press the the button below the right trackpad labeled ...
Select the battery icon.
Turn off the performance overlay.

that's probably mangohud... on the deck it's usually managed by SteamOS but if the usual config menrioned above by @my new friend... that nickname is killer, LOL) you can override its settings via game launch parameters:

Thanks, but that doesn't do anything, it's on "OFF" already. It's actually Gamescope. So, are there any other ways?

Thank you for answering, but I can't turn it off. It's Gamescope, I think. Performance Overlay level is OFF.

I'm having the same issue. Just started today while playing desk job. I had to do with all of the different buttons that Grady had me mashing at the same time. I figured I could turn it off in settings, but my settings are also already set to 0 / none.

as mentioned in an earlier thread that I linked to above, try to add this to the game's launch parameters in steam library:

MANGOHUD_CONFIG=no_display

it should override what gamescope is doing (calling mangohud with the wrong settings)

It bugged for me once. So I set it back to 1 and then back to off and small FPS meter went away. So hope it works for you too

This is now the 3rd time the performance overlay has bugged and stayed on my screen infinitely. Just started this morning and I tried all the usual stuff and nada. Every time this happens I stop playing it for a month and it magically goes away.

I tried restarting the deck and that made it go away for me. Maybe try that and hopefully that works for you.
