ps: I'm not implying any shady practices, tgis just happened because of how hard it currently is to reliably source parts in bulk to meet large production demands
I'm hoping for the quieter choice. iFixit is trying to get the more silent ones it seems. I don't mind waiting for it as of now, though I'm really hoping I can get my hands on one soon. The deck when playing AAA games sounds like a loud whistling mosquito taking up the room.

Why not just RMA it? I am more looking for after my warranty is up for parts than right now. As I see it any problems I have for the next year with the system are actually a Valve problem and will just RMA it if anything is wrong with mine.
To each their own. If I just got a new device that wasn't functioning properly I would send it back to the manufacturer instead of doing homemade fixes or hoping that parts come out sooner than later.
I see. I guess I misunderstood what you meant. I would probably send it in anyways haha.
