GOG version of Witcher 3 on the Steam Deck?

What I've tried:
Copying the Witcher 3 folder to the Steam Deck.
Open Steam Client in Desktop Mode.
Choose "Add non-Steam Game.
Choose "Witcher 3.exe"

What happens:
Steam logo briefly flashes, then back to Desktop Mode.

I'd rather not have to buy a 2nd copy of Witcher 3.
Just wondering if anybody else has had this issue or has a solution.

Easiest way would be installing your GOG games through Lutris. You can install Lutris through the built-in Discover app store in Desktop mode. However, Lutris may ask you to install drivers and WINE first, which requires you to setup a sudo password - all using the terminal. It isn't quite as straight forward and you should get yourself familiar with Linux first and read the guides thoroughly.

Heroic games launcher[github.com] (available as a flatpak[flathub.org]), is also a good option, once a game is installed, you can use Heroic Bash Launcher[github.com] to add the game to Steam.

the easiest is to use lutris for most games and programs outside steam: its a installer and game manager.

you can use the links provided there to start installation if you already have installed lutris, but its more simple to just launch lutris, and from there search the game to find the installer script (from the program, without a browser).

heroic games is a launcher made for epic games, and is not useful for gog, or anything else.
