Steamdeck no vibration ingame
Hello, everyone.
I got my Steamdeck yesterday and installed some games right away.
Unfortunately, I don't have any vibration in any game. Especially with Tetris effect connected I really miss the haptic feedback.

Is this normal on the steam deck or do I have to adjust something first?

When I use the touchpad as a mouse outside of games, the touchpad vibrates.

Thank you for your help

not that many PC games support haptics like console versions do... that's something each game's devs need to change on their own games

the Deck's UI does support haptics because that's sometging Valve can do themselves

to make sure there is nothing preventing haptics to work as expected in games, search for one that's known to have haptics on a PC with a controller plugged in and test that...

Thanks for the feedback.
i have already played tetris effect connected on my pc with a playstation controller.
the haptic feedback was outstanding and went perfectly with the game and the music.
That's why I'm surprised that there is absolutely no feedback on the steamdeck.

Try another game (with vibrational feedback) on your Deck. That way, you can find out whether this is a problem with this specific game or a general one with your Deck or it's configuration.

Reboot Could you please tell me the name of a game where it definitely worked for you. Then I could test it with this game, maybe I have it in my library.

Thank you

Thousands of them. This forum is full with people talking about games on the Deck. If you don't find much, the Reddit SD forum got a crapton of them. Rule of thumb: if there is something to complain about, people complain. So if, let's say, someone talks about playing Elden Ring on their Deck and doesn't mention haptics not working, rest assured haptics in Elden Ring work on the Deck.

Or it's just not a feature and people don't even expect it to be... Positive confirmation is better in that regard, so pick a game where someone says haptics does work fine.

Just simply give 1 title so he can give it a try.

I've already tried it with Tetris, Hades, Gonner2, Outward, Witcher 3, GRIP, West of Dead and Ori and the Blind Forest. Most games didn't feel a thing, or just so little that you had to focus on it to notice anything.

There is no vibration in tetris effect like you would have, when you play with a controller on your desktop, but when you are transitioning between stages, it does vibrate.

Worked with a couple games. I suggest you guys check whether game haptics is enabled and if, increase intensity.
I'll just say this, there should be haptic feedback in place of vibrations. The Steam Deck does not have rumble motors, so haptics are used to emulate those instead. They should work, but if you manage to enable them then you will also notice they are not as good as with rumble motors, and games that use rumble did not design for haptics so it is simply not as good or accurate

But still, they should definitely work so you probably need to check all your settings, or you have a weird bug

I tested everything again intensively. The settings definitely fit. I played cloudpunk yesterday and today and you notice it a little better. I think I just expected more. Thank you for your help
