External mouse not working in games started in game mode, but works if started from desktop mode

Hi

Does anyone know if this is a know bug that Valve is working on?


External mouse not working in games started in game mode, but works if started from desktop mode.

I have seen this problem with on 7 days to die, but when googling on it it seems like there are a lot of games affected.

Here are a video with another user describing the same problem,
both that it does not work in game mode, and that the same game works when started in desktop mode. (He used Apex Legends to show the problem).

Step by step, broken use case.
1. Connect the deck to a usb dock, with usb mouse, keyboard and screen.
2. Go to game mode
3. Start game i.e 7 days to die
4. Try to aim with the external mouse.
At this point the aim goes to the ground and nothing happens.

Step by step, work around
1. Connect the deck to a usb dock, with usb mouse, keyboard and screen.
2. Go to desktop mode
3. Start the steam client
4. Start game i.e 7 days to die
45 Try to aim with the external mouse.
At this point the aim works and the game is playable.


It seem like this game affects a lot of users on a lot of games,
but I cant find any information on if this is a know bug that Valve is actively working on?
