Offline mode ?

Ummm when go into offline mode I just tested this is my first time checking my deck out of my house on a trip. I wanted to check when I keep it in offline mode and go to shut down it tells me I will be signed out. Where I’m going I will not have internet just my phone and that does it have a hot spot. How can I use my deck offline as it needs to be signed in to use my games and account ? Not sure how this works.

The message should say

"Offline Mode is useful when you want to play games, but can't maintain a connection to the Steam Network. You'll also be signed out of friends and chat" not that you'll be fully signed out.

Can you confirm that's the message you saw?

No it doesn’t say that it said I’d need to re-enter my credentials. I already tested it and it kicked me off so no.

When you logged in, do you tell it to keep you logged in?

i.e. do you have to enter your credentials on every reboot?

No … not until I tried offline mode

That's not my experience. I just put my Deck into Offline mode. Then I selected to Restart the device. Came right into Game Mode still in Offline Mode with no login prompt.

Are you on the Stable branch?

Also, are you sure you didn't select Sign Out from the Power Menu?

I nothing I go back and uncheck offline mode and it works fine. It only signs me out if I am im offline mode. Also the recent update signed me out as well after doing said update. Always a problem with this device.

No I did not select that. I simply clicked offline mode steam button shut down. And it logs me out 🤷🏻‍♂️

You can try a factory reset or reimage, but I simply do not experience what you are experiencing.

That would take way to much time to redownload all my stuff not gonna do that.

Just because you didn’t experience it doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

That mean's it's not a systemic issue (i.e. everyone is not experiencing it so it 'may' be localized to your install).
