Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Deck FSR
Despite all the guides I followed, I cannot seem to get the Steam Deck FSR to enable. I follow all the steps, enable it in the QA Menu, lowering the in game resolution, but the performance metrics simply don't tell me it is on, and I don't know why

Any help?

Which game or games are you trying it on?

There are some games it will not work on.

Spider-Man, Sonic Frontiers, DOOM Eternal, maybe Persona 3R/5R, and DB Kakarot

Spider-Man I believe has its own FSR built in that you enable in game. That likely won't register in the Steam Overlay.

But I enable it on the Steam Deck itself

I don't think that works for Spider-Man. I think you have to use their built in FSR. At least all the videos I saw of using FSR with that title is using the in-game settings, not the Deck settings.

FSR gen1 can be forced to work this way...

Before launching game, open Properties on game library page. Under wheel icon.

General... set game resolution LOWER than display.
1024 x 640 is highest resolution for Decks aspect ratio.
Enable this resolution for both Internal and External display.

It doesn't work on every game. Some games you cannot force it from the Deck.
