Steam Deck

Steam Deck

[ Solved ] XBox One Controller Help
I have an issue with an XBOX One controller. I have synced one controller with no issues. I got a new controller and no matter what I do I can not get it to show up in the Bluetooth Devices List. If I connect the controller via USB using a HUB the Steam Deck Detects it and it works fine but once I unplug it it is not recognized as a bluetooth device.

Steps I have taken:
Remove Batteries from controller and shut down steam deck for a night and powered both on with no change.

Paired the XBOX One controller with my XBOX to see if the bluetooth works at all and it successfully paired.

Connected the controller to the Steamdeck via USB and it worked but did not sync when the cable is removed.

Removed the dock from the steamdeck and tried connecting the controller again but it still does not show up on the list of devices.

Connected controller to xbox and installed controller update with no change.

You are correct turns out it is a Model 1537 which does not have bluetooth connectivity. Thank you.

ah man. i didn’t know that. cheers! i can give up and buy a new one now. what does it talk to the xbox one with wirelessly then if no bluetooth? or just xbox’s private version of bluetooth?

Not every RF protocol has to be BT. It is entirely possible to have a protocol which simply isn't BT. Not a "private version of Bluetooth" but something else entirely.

the xbox controllers use a custom wireless protocol (i think it is 2,4Ghz based)
