lol, you dont need to know about linux to be able to ask better questions, and offer better answers so others can be able to understand whats your problem and how to help you. those are very different skills, and you should try to update them so the next time you are stuck, you have a chance of finding the solution faster.
be more patient, and more precise. its a win+win, for you and everyone else. also would make you look kinder, and less like someone trying to troll or pull a prank.
Corey, they are pointing to your replies to Reboot, which were terse to say the least. They aren't suggesting you are being coy about knowing how to get StarCitizen to work on Deck. They are simply pointing out that rather than taking 5 replies back and forth, you could have simply provided the full error text when Reboot ask what the error was (or in the OP).
Fair enough and honestly am amazed you typed all that in and it wasn't a copy/paste. I think if you had replied with something along the lines of "I'm new to linux and I'm not sure how to copy/paste the error text on the Steam Deck" would have been a little more understandable than "A lot of text". :)
I did get pass that error but when star citizen download it booted but then gave me a easy anti cheat error
In linux you'll typically see it referred to as the Terminal, Console, or Command Line Interface (CLI). If you say Command prompt, the majority of people familiar with linux are going to know what you mean. :)
I think they are still working with EAC on implementations for proton compatibility, however, this will also likely have to be something that CIG will need to update the version of EAC they are using. I'm not gonna hold my breath for StarCitizen to be reasonably playable on the Deck from either a performance perspective or a controls perspective, however, once I get my Deck I'll probably tinker around with trying to get it working just to see if its feasible.
Nice, what was the resolution?
Also, should I even ask how the performance is? lol I can already imagine...
You fly into Lorville and your Deck just explodes in your hands.
3 to 15 fps with a lot of freezes in Lorville
I don’t know how to launch my ship with a controller so I couldn’t fly anywhere
Sounds about right. lol
If you do keep working at getting it running somewhat ok, here is a tip for trying to make the controls not super terrible. You can create a controller profile to do a lot of keyboard mapping, etc. In the configurations you can setup action groups and set them to be toggled using a button. For example you could setup a "Take off & landing" action group and then bind the keyboard hotkeys for engine start, opening the comm channel to request takeoff, etc. to your preferred face buttons. Then set that action group to one of the 4 back buttons so you can toggle that action group when taking off.
This YouTube channel has done several videos on setting up the Steam Controller for Star Citizen with various new releases of the PTU.

This should at least get you pointed in the right direction for setting up a control profile for Star Citizen on Steam Deck.
Hopefully that controller configuration is possible on my PC as well
My PC does also struggle with star citizen my PC can run it at 4K max settings at 10 to 50 fps
Is there any reason why star citizen is so hard to run
