If you solve the Problem let US hear how you do this ;)
I hope that help you too.
there are posts on here that go into more detail than i will but basically you want to force bios on boot and leave it to run out of battery.
Yeah your problem and his problem are different.
He was stuck on boot logo
Yours won't even turn on.
Open the Deck.
Disconnect the battery from the connector.
After you disconnect the battery, hold down the power button for 60 seconds.
After you hold down the power button for 60 seconds, release it and press "...." (3 dots), volume down and power for 60 seconds. (EVEN with power and battery disconnected!)
Then, connect the AC Adapter.
Does the charging light turn on now?
If NOTHING turns on, just RMA.
If the charging light turns on but it cycles between 3 different brightness levels, unplug the charger and reconnect the battery.
Then let it charge for 2 hours.
JeebusChryslerOMG!
This saved me, dear Falkentyne. Thank you so very much!
I thought it was bricked. I had a sawed off 1tb, hall sensor sticked, liquid metal cooled beast (RMAre you crazy) that today was only getting me the black-screen-haptics-and-fans-limbo.
I did everything. Eventually swapped to the default 64gb and was shocked to realize that the problem remained. Searched "bricked steam deck" and found this post.
I really did not expect that unplugged voodoo to work but it sure did.
Again - Thank you so very much!
Cheers /Staffan
edit:
I had it shut down and charging. Today when I started it the black-screen-haptics-and-fans-limbo was back. Uhhh...
I forgot to mention that I've had it dual booted for over a month with no issues except having to reinstall rEFInd once.
Wow, this fixed my brick deck! Thank you so much! Already had a ticket and could RMA but as warranty period has passed steam only offered repair for money, which I saved now...
