How to clear shader cache - is it necessary in Aug 2024 and if yes what's the best way?
Clearing shader cache for Steam and non-steam games - is it necessary in Aug 2024 and if yes what's the best way with the least amount of installation.

shader cache and steam shader pre-caching are two different things. you can try disabling shader pre-caching and re-enable if your performance suffers.

However, why do you think you need to clear your shader cache?

Shaders can take up a lot of storage and if it still works as it used to, they aren't deleted when you uninstall the game, meaning you can end up with a lot of storage taken by files you may never need again.

If you use the Steam-based "uninstall", they are removed when the game is uninstalled. Anything done outside of Steam, needs to managed outside of Steam.
