Problem Logging In: Won't Login Despite Correct Login

I've been digging around for answers on this problem, but what I've got are year old threads talking about these issues.

Well anyway, I decided to dust off the Deck after my dad's been modding it around, and he reapplied the Steam OS on it. There have been... Troubles with it. Namely that it won't let me log in.

On PC there are no problems (I even reset my password to make sure), but for the Deck and even phone Steam applications there are problems with the login. Is this a server issue with Steam, or is there something else going on? I'm at a bit of a dead end here.

Do a hard reboot on it (Hold down the power button until it shuts off) and then turn it back on. I had this on my Deck when it did it's first boot after the OS installed. Couldn't login for anything. Did hard reboot and then it worked and hasn't had an issue since.

I tried this twice, even held it long enough until the little light blinked twice. No results I'm afraid.

What exactly *is* the problem with the login? Just saying "there is a problem" means nothing. Is the password wrong? Steamdeck can't reach the internet?

Eh. I thought my third paragraph did a good enough job implying that the problem is the login is the problem. That the password is incorrect despite a password reset and the password working on the PC but not on phone applications or on the Deck.

This seems to be a problem with the key entry. Are you using ethernet connection (wired) on your PC? What happens if you use a wireless connection on your PC and manually log out directly, and then re-enter your password? Your PC already has saved information so saying you can log in on your PC when it does it automatically isn't really addressing the issue.

Have you tried hooking up a physical keyboard to your steam deck and then trying the password that way? If *both* your PC and Steam deck are attached wirelessly, you should run into the same problem on all of them, if you said your phone app doesn't even work.

if that doesn't work, please contact Valve. No one here can help you, especially if you said you can't log in with the phone app.

That's actually the darnest thing... I can't login to the mobile applications either, so no QR code to be had there either.

Alright, I managed to sort things out somehow. Just had to reset the password again and login to my mobile application first.
