Deck says invalid password every time on new wifi
I have updated my internet (Quantum fiber) and changed the password and name. Wpa I believe. Every device connects fine except for my steam deck. Tried development mode to uncheck option according to video but it was already unchecked. The password is correct, but it says incorrect every time

I had the exact same issue after swapping to Quantum fiber. Make sure you *enable* the "Force WPA Supplicant WiFi backend" option that became available with a 7/19 beta update (I think?). That instantly fixed my issue

I switched to desktop mode and opened the file explorer. I went to rootfs > etc > NetworkManager > conf.d and opened wifi_backend.conf.
I changed wifi.backend= from iwd to wpa_supplicant. My wifi_backend.conf file now reads:

[device]
wifi.backend=wpa_supplicant
wifi.twd.autoconnect=yes

Then I saved the file. Now restart your Steam Deck.
Now my Steam Deck works with Quantum Fiber. I tried the beta channel stuff first that others mentioned but I didn't have the Force wpa_supplicant option that was mentioned. I'm using this change on the stable channel.

Why do you need to change the backend? Is your ssid hidden? iwd actually respect hidden ssid.

Thanks man. This was killing me. It worked on my OLED I’ll test it on my kids LCD in some time.
