Steam deck battery power while playing
So, is there any method that allows you to see the battery percentage while gaming without pressing the three dots button? It's so tedious to click on it over and over again just to see how long I have to play.

You could use the second option of the framerate thingy, I believe that shows battery power. Sadly you'll have to deal with seeing the rest of that text, but I think there's a decky plugin that lets you modify them.

It actually has been possible to customize the performance overlay since SteamOS 3.5 Preview (September, 2023) or SteamOS 3.5.5 Stable (November, 2023).

For reference here are SteamOS 3.5.5 Stable release notes:

The contents of the performance overlay can now be customized by creating a ~/.config/MangoHud/presets.conf configuration file.

Some instructions how to get started with it can be found (after some quick googling) from here:

Included in these options is also the battery.
