Get Proton-GE without the discover store?

Hi, my discover store won't download anything at all since I got my deck back from an RMA. I'm currently working on a support request for that, but even re-imaging the deck hasn't fixed it. Is there a way to get something like protonup-qt on my deck without using the discover store? I really just need proton GE

You don't need ProtonUp-Qt to install Proton-GE, you can just follow the manual install instructions[github.com]
In short:

1. Download the latest .tar.gz from the release page[github.com]
   
2. Unpack to ~/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d
   
3. Restart the Steam Client

If that sounds like too much and you'd rather use ProtonUp-Qt, you can just download the latest .AppImage here and run it.[github.com]

Maybe you will get an idea of what discover store is doing when you run it from a konsole window, installing something, and looking at the output.
