Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Is there a comprehensive list of what games the Steam Deck can output to 4K when docked and what games can't?
I'd test each of my games out myself, but I'm worried about potential damage I could cause to the Deck, ya know?

Man, I play some really old games on this thing, and most of the even have trouble at 1080p. But, no, I don't know about damaging the deck by running games at 4k lol.

I think I used a poor choice of words, but I was saying I don't want to overwork the Deck if I were to try to play games such as, say, WWE 2K24 on my 4K TV, but what you mentioned about 1080p reminds me I've a Switch which only outputs to 1080p and I'm fine with that.

I guess I just wanna see if I can is all. Oh, btw, I did try some games in the past with a game like Pizza Tower being unable to run in 4K(which is part of why I got worried about it), so did you try to set the resolution for the games you played docked specifically to 4K in the game settings? Not the in-game settings, but like, the gear icon on the game's listing in your library,

I'm not sure you can over work the steam deck, as it's limited to 15 watts regardless of resolution. If you are playing on handled mode while docked, set the resolution in both the steam settings and game settings. I recommend using FSR to upscale to 4k. You can enable that system wide or on a per game basis. If the game has border less window mode, enable that and FSR should work.
