Voice Chat with headsets

In deck mode, the Steam Deck won't route voice chat through a bluetooth headset or a wired headset with mic. It routes game audio through the headset and uses the internal mic and speakers to play voice chat, which is super awkward to use.

I'd love to pair a bluetooth headset or wired 3.5mm headset with a mic and just route everything (voice and game audio) through that. Or even have the option to select where each source goes (although I doubt the hardware can do that).

I've seen online discussions of "it works for me" and "I've never gotten this to work", and "here's this insanely silly workaround to make it sort of work". It would be great if Valve just made it more intuitive and straightforward.
