Gaming while charging - Good or bad?
Hi there,
I got my Steam Deck OLED and I love it! I again enjoy gaming.
I would like to know if gaming while charging will degrade the battery.
Some Gaming Phones bypass the battery once it's charged and then directly pull power from the socket to prevent battery degradation.

The Deck's charger has enough juice to simultaneously charge the battery while running the Deck. Once the battery is full, it bypasses it and just runs the Deck. Even if you leave the Deck plugged in all the time, it will allow the battery to naturally discharge to 90% before it starts charging again so you don't wear it out.

Personally, i'd say it's perfectly fine. That being said, I haven't really looked into if it causes problems, but it's probably fine. In fact, i'm sitting here replying to this post with my Steam Deck LCD plugged in while running Wreckfest in the background.

I use my steam deck plugged in 100% of the time and after almost 2 years the battery health is 91% so you will be fine
