missing buttons?? PAD and LS

I tried to play the first horizon game on my steam deck and it says to press the Pad or LS button for some actions but i don’t have these buttons?? also can’t replace them in the controller settings bc then there’s buttons missing for other actions.

To perform the action assigned to the LS button, you must press the left pad (joystick) vertically. You need to use a little more force than you think. I think this should work.

LS meaing Left Stick and yes, you have one. As for the pad, I bet your Deck got a digital pad on the left side, next to the Left Sick (you allegedly don't have).

It is funny but it’s also sad to know that games are still running into the issue where they don’t let people know that the left stick is actually also a button you can press down on.

I remember being so confused as a kid in the PS2 era when games would tell me to press “L3”. I would look all over the controller and see L1 and L2 but no L3.
