Is there a way access copy + paste function in gaming mode?

I have a game (insurgency sandstorm) that requires lots of copy/paste of long command lines. I tried playing the game on desktop mode because it makes it easier since I can directly copy and paste things from a text file.

But desktop mode has its problems, the game runs worse, I can't seem to bring up the keyboard with the same shortcut keys anymore, and the trackpad, steam and settings buttons all stopped working in game.

So is there any way I can conveniently use ctrl+c/v features when in gaming mode?

You can bind them, presumably with chords so they don't conflict with in-game commands.

Insurgency sandstorm has a ridiculously outdated and lazy design, whereas normal games give you a menu and UI to select map, mod, and other stuffs, you are required to input a very long string of commands into the developer console if you want to tweak and go beyond any of the default settings.

So I need to copy and paste strings of commands unless I opt to spend 3 minutes typing them out by hand each round.

Yeah I bought L5 and R5 to ctrl+c and ctrl+v, but I can't seem to copy anything in gaming mode (I wrote the command as a comment but selecting it and pressing L5 doesn't copy it). Steam notes just didn't work on the deck for me, I cannot type anything as if the delete key is stuck and auto deleted everything as soon as I type a letter.

In desktop mode, the textpad is great for me to paste the command from online, but I can't even bring up the keyboard while in game, or minimize the game to copy the command.
