Game launcher menu bar cut off
Hi guys, i noticed that with games that require a launcher to be used to run the exe, in game mode only the menu bar is cut off... So there's no way to access the "x" button on the menu to close the launcher after I finish a game.

This issue doesn't happen in desktop mode, since the menu isn't cut off. Besides force quitting the game, is there a way to access the menu so I can close out the game after it ends?

does nothing, what is this command normally for when it does work?

To me it seems like game mode tries to do away with all menu bars, but there must be a way to manually bring it back via a launch command or something?

The, press Steam, navigate to the apropriate menu item & close this way.

Does -windowed or -sw launch command work in game mode? with gamescope running I know it removes the menu...

That entirely depends on the game.

The game in question is Minecraft bedrock edition installed and running via the bedrock launcher from the Discovery store. I added it as a non steam game afterwards and it runs flawlessly. The only issue is that after the game itself quits, the launcher is still running in the background since on a normal pc, the launchers always run in the background unless you manually close it out using the "x" in the upper right corner. This problem is really not a Minecraft problem, since I get this with other games running launchers that can only be closed by hitting the "x" in the corner. I tried running the Java version via prism launcher, works fine, but I need the bedrock edition since it allows cross console play and Java is pc only.

Have you tried what I told you earlier, namely pressing the Steam button and using the menu?

Steam button and then hitting exit right? I did and it works, but it's basically the same as just shutting a PC down in the middle of an operation without properly shutting it down isn't it? That's why I figured I'd try to find a proper way.

If it's OK to shut it down this way I guess I don't mind it as long as it doesn't cause file system damage to the game files. What do you think?

It's OK. Won't damage your game files. This isn't equivalent to shutting your PC down anyway, it's more equivalent to killing the process.
